Vishu, Tamil & Tulu New Year

Tamil and Tulu New Year are celebrated by worshiping the family deities, preparation of sweet and other delicacies and the reading of the Panchanga (Religious Almanac). The Panchanga reading outlines all auspicious events and highlights potential challenges for the year, based on planetary transits and the influence of the presiding deity for the year. A unique feature of the celebration is the special Aarthi for all deities of our temple in sequence starting from 6:30 PM.

Vishnu signifies the entry of the Sun into Mesha Raasi and is believed to bring good luck if one views auspicious things first thing in the morning. Hence on this day in Kerala, homes are beautifully decorated and auspicious items are kept at the family altar.
